Michael Jackson tribute

Jersey Boys' Erich Bergen (a huge Michael Jackson fan) is co-producing a tribute concert scheduled for August 29, what would have been Michael's 51st birthday. The event will feature performers from shows on the Strip (including Phantom and Jersey Boys) as well as some of the big stars of Las Vegas, and will take place in The Pearl at The Palms.

Proceeds from the show will be donated to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, an initiative to which Jackson contributed. The organization is dedicated to restoring music education in public schools.  VH1 Save The Music | VH1 Save The Music Foundation

Liza's at the Palace... in Vegas!

Fun breaking news... Liza Minnelli's Tony-winning event Liza's at the Palace will be filmed at the MGM Grand this September. The original Broadway cast recording of the show was released in February.

Liza has a great relationship with Vegas audiences, as well as the performers on the strip. In the Fall of 2006, she performed a free, late-night, invitation only show for more than 1000 Las Vegas entertainers. She repeatedly referred to the audience as "my babies" and thanked us for showing up. We'll all remember the moment late in the show when she exclaimed, "Wait a minute, I can't see a damn thing!" and yanked off her signature lashes. Brought the house down, of course. The inspired and energized crowd didn't leave the theatre until 3:30am!
