Philip Fortenberry in concert!

"Broadway, My Way"
Sunday, November 22 at 2pm
Clark County Library Theater
1401 E. Flamingo

Philip Fortenberry, a concert pianist, “Jersey Boys” Associate Conductor, and star of “Liberace and Me” cabaret, will perform “Broadway, My Way,” a solo piano concert to commemorate the decades he dedicated to performing for Broadway musicals, national tours, and concerts. His concert will be presented by the Performing Arts Society of Nevada Brown Bag Concerts on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Clark County Library Theater, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Fortenberry, a virtuoso pianist and Broadway import who now makes his home in Las Vegas, will perform a solo offering of popular and classic Broadway show tunes he knows and loves so well. Too, he’ll play the music he learned directly from the composers, arrangers, directors, and stars of Broadway shows, some of which he helped to originate and bring to life.

In this concert, he’ll weave the music of the Great White Way around the stories of his experiences on Broadway and share unique insights into the music and the special meaning each song – including his own personal take on music from such modern classic hits as “CATS,” “Evita” and “Jesus Christ Superstar,” plus lesser known cult favorites like “Ragtime,” “Sideshow” and “Seussical, the Musical.” He’ll also feature songs from the canon of great Broadway classics “Camelot,” “South Pacific,” and “Carousel.”

Fortenberry, in response to requests from his fans, will debut his newest CD, “Broadway, My Way” at the concert, and a limited number of CDs will be sold.

Tickets for the concert are $15 and can be purchased by phone, 702-658-6741 or e-mail ticket requests to pasnv@aol.com.

More information about Fortenberry’s career and other CD releases are available on his website at www.philipfortenberry.com.
